NOTICE OF A PROPOSED VOLUNTARY CLEANUP PLAN UNDER THE ALABAMA LAND RECYCLING AND ECONOMIC REDEVELOPMENT ACT (ALRERA) FOR THE HOOVER INVESTMENTS, INC. FACILITY LOCATED IN CLANTON, ALABAMA.

A Voluntary Cleanup Plan (VCP) has been completed by Highland Technical Services, Inc. for the Hoover Investments, Inc. facility. The VCP addresses three Areas of Concern which were used to manage hazardous waste at the facility (EPA I.D. Number ALD 044 889 624) located at 690 Keystone Drive in Clanton, Alabama.

Hoover Investments, Inc. owns a facility that produced primarily aluminum molded products until 1990. In addition to metal molding, the previous owners utilized painting and anodizing processes to surface coat products. Hoover Investments, Inc. is the current owner of the facility and is a participant of ADEM’s Voluntary Cleanup Program as described in ADEM Admin Code r. 335-15. In accordance with ADEM Admin Code r. 335-15, Hoover Investments Inc. has submitted a draft Corrective Action Plan for public input.

Copies of the Voluntary Cleanup Plan are available for public inspection for 30 days from the date of this notice during normal business hours Monday through Friday, except legal holidays at the following locations:

Copies may be obtained by contacting Mr. Russell Kelly, ADEM, Permits and Services Division, at the above address. A nominal fee for copying and/or emailing will be charged. Arrangements for copying should be made in advance.

In order to affect final decisions, all comments must address issues that have an impact on the applicant’s ability to comply with applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations. ADEM maintains a list of interested individuals who are mailed legal notices issued by the Department.
